About 6 years ago, our founder, Bas van der Lugt, was in town looking for unique lace-up shoes. Bas: “The shoes I could find were very boring and old-fashioned. Moreover, these shoes easily cost hundreds of euros. In my opinion, these shoes should be a lot more modern and affordable.” Because… why are neat lace-up shoes actually always so ridiculously expensive and/or boring? We tried to find an answer to that question. And what did we find out after market research? With the big brands, time has – curiously – stood still: This was the beginning of Lureaux Shoes!
